I CANNOT believe that it’s February already! 2018 is flying by so far, and I’ve accomplished so much this month! That is, in the real world. The book world is an entirely different story. I literally read a total of four books. That’s right. FOUR. I can barely believe it myself. But I’ve been so busy doing other things or being sick or in a slump that I’m not exactly surprised. So my January 2018 Wrap-Up won’t be entirely book-focused this month. I get to talk about more stuff like my life right now!

These are the four books I managed to finish reading in January. The Wife Between Us was a knockout for me. I found it a twisting, turning story of lies and deceit. Force of Nature was the next book on my list this month, and it’s the second in the Aaron Falk series. I wasn’t a huge fan of this story, as it had some aspects that threw me for a loop. During Force of Nature, I hit quite the reading slump. I didn’t really want to read anything. I had trouble focusing on what I was reading.
But How To Stop Time brought me out of that funk. I loved everything about this book. It was part love story, part historical fiction, and just filled with so many wonderful moving parts that I adored. The writing was stunning as well! The last finished book this month was The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. Knowing what I do about Hannah, she is a master storyteller that always manages to make me cry like an idiot. Plus, the beauty of Alaska shone through and made me want to visit there.

My Life This January
This month started off great with the New Year, and then I turned a whopping 31 years old! I’m feeling okay with being in my thirties, and I’m excited to see what else the future holds for me as I grow. I am also moving out in February and moving in with my boyfriend to a whole other state. It’ll only be a half hour’s drive from where my family and friends are, but it’s a huge step for me and I’m ecstatic! So January has been busy for me as I’m packing up my belongings and combining my life with his. It’s scary and overwhelming, but I couldn’t be happier!
