Well, I’d like to say Happy Monday, but who actually enjoys Mondays? I know I don’t I already miss the weekend! So I figured I would post my Monday Update #1 where I get to share what’s been going on with me and what my reading plans are. This post is an extension of the meme, It’s Monday: What Are You Reading, hosted by Kathryn @ The Book Date. Check out her blog when you’re finished up here! I love being able to catch up with everyone, so here we go!
Sooooo BIG NEWS HERE! I am moving! Which is scary and daunting and stressful, but I’m moving in with my boyfriend. Which is amazing and exciting and OMG I’M EXCITED!! So that’s a big deal for me. Especially since I’ll be moving to another state. I don’t know about any of you, but I love the state I was born and raised in. I’ve spent my entire life as a Jersey Girl and I almost feel like I’m selling out. I know that’s silly, especially since I’ll literally be on the border, but that’s just how I’m feeling right now. ANYWAYS, if I’m not posting as much as usual, it’s because I’m really BUSY moving all of my crap to another state! YAY!!
What I Finished Reading
I just finished How to Stop Time last Thursday, and I absolutely LOVED IT! This was a great book for anyone to read regardless of your favorite genre. I just posted my review for it yesterday, and it releases officially on February 6th. If you click the link below, you can pre-order it! (P.S. The below link is an affiliate link, which means I will make a percentage of the profit if you buy the product. This blog costs money, so this is much appreciated!)
What I’m Currently Reading
I just picked up my ARC of The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. I received a copy from the publisher and am SO EXCITED TO READ IT OMGGGG! Kristin Hannah has been a favorite ever since The Nightingale, so I’m sure The Great Alone will be no different! I’m only a few chapters in, and already I’m drawn to the main character! Be on the lookout for my review coming soon! This one releases on February 6th as well.
What I’m Reading Next
If you’ve read my January TBR, I made a monthly list of the books I want to get through this month. Next up is Sunburn by Laura Lippman. I received this ARC from the publisher as well, and it releases on February 20th. As you can see, I’m doing my best to read and review the ARCs I receive by their publication date. That way, all of YOU know whether or not you will love them. Looking at the different authors that are on this list, I’m sure most of you will LOVE THEM! Laura Lippman entered my life mid-2017, and I fell in love with her writing style immediately. I knew I wanted to get my hands on her newest release, and I’m looking forward to getting to it!
After Sunburn, I’d really like to read As Bright As Heaven. I mentioned it in my 2018 Historical Fiction Releases post, and Book of the Month offered it for its January book box. Obviously, I snatched it up and I’d like to read it before it also releases on February 6th. I probably won’t get to it by then, but the closer the better, right? I didn’t add this to my January TBR for some reason, but I’m excited for it so it’s moving up the line!
Next up will probably be The Bear and the Nightingale. I bought this one with a Barnes and Noble gift card, and I mentioned it in my Top 5 Series I’m Hoping to Start in 2018. It’s not my typical genre as a Young Adult novel, but it seems steeped in Russian lore and magic. I’m obsessed with anything Russian, so it’s an obvious selection for me! Plus, I’ve seen nothing but stellar reviews for it!
I’m hoping these will fit in January, as I had a bit of a rough start this month. I was seriously stuck in a reading funk, and only How to Stop Time could get me out of it! Do you see anything on this list you’re planning to read this month? Have you read any of these books yet? Let me know in the comments!!
