A few days ago, Erin over at A Redhead’s Rambling nominated me for the Brotherhood of the World Award. This is my first ever nomination, and I couldn’t wait to get started on it! Erin has such an awesome blog that I love reading, so it’s such an honor to get this award from her! I’m only a little over two months since the creation of my own blog, and getting such great feedback from wonderful people is really inspiring! Now, onto the award!
Rules of the Brotherhood of the World Award:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
- Answer the questions sent to you.
- Nominate around ten bloggers.
- Create your set of questions for your nominees.
- List the rules and display the Brotherhood Of The World logo in your post.
What motivated you to start your blog?
This is a great question, and one that I haven’t really answered since starting! I’ve always LOVED to read, and whenever I finished a book, I realized that I had no one to talk to about it or recommend it to. I have a few friends who read as well, and I felt like I was always pestering them with these fantastic books that they should read. So, I decided to start a book blog to create great recommendations and reviews so that I could talk all I want about books without anyone complaining! Obviously, I still bug my few book friends with recommendations and such, but now I can share my big mouth with the WHOLE WORLD! Plus, I love to write and this is a great way to get my voice heard and write some great things.
Is this the first time you’ve ever had a blog?
Well, technically I started a WordPress free blog, like, a few years ago but never added anything to it. I had completely forgot about the account until I started THIS blog and had to merge the two together! So, I guess you could say that, yes, this is the first time I’ve had a blog. I have enjoyed learning the ins and outs of blogging and have met some really awesome people in the process!
If yes, what do you want to accomplish with it? If not, what is different about this blog?
As a blogger, I want to create a space where people can come and discuss whatever they want with me. I write these posts in the hopes that they spark discussion because I love to discuss and talk about books. I could do it all day! I’ve always tried to talk to people in the real world about books (AKA my boyfriend) but they never really understood me. I want people to have a safe place for great discussion without being judged or feeling bothersome.
Who is someone that pushes you to write, even when you don’t feel like it?
My boyfriend, beyond a doubt! Right now he’s been deployed to the St. Thomas after spending time in Puerto Rico (it’s been 12 OUT OF 60 DAYS!) and he still finds the time during our short phone conversations to push me to write and do the best work I can. He’s honestly a Godsend and I can’t wait for him to come home and share what I’ve been up to here with him!
What is your favourite dessert?
Who would create such a silly question?? That’s like asking what my ONE favorite book is. I have multiple favorites! But my top desserts are definitely cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies and tiramisu. I’m a sucker for good chocolate, so I’ll accept anything in the chocolate range! This is probably one of the reasons that Halloween is my favorite holiday: an endless supply of free chocolate!
These nominees are people who have inspired me on my own blogging journey and I always look forward to their posts and feedback!
