Happy Monday everyone! I’m not technically happy that it’s Monday, but what can you do? I didn’t do much this weekend other than laundry and reading. My watched my brother play high school football on Friday night, but it wasn’t a great game to mention. Then let’s not even bring up the GIANTS…. It hasn’t been a great season for me as a football fan.
This is a weekly meme hosted by BookDate. So here’s what I’m up to in the reading world:
What I’ve Read
Last week, I managed to finish only one book, which is sad for me! It was my first eARC from Netgalley, which is pretty exciting for me! The House on Foster Hill is about a young woman who experiences a traumatic event and moves into an old, abandoned home in the town of her ancestors. She thought she left behind all of her troubles, but it appears they followed her to rural Wisconsin.
What I Did Not Finish
I’m really disappointed in myself for this. The Witches just wasn’t what I was expecting, and it being as big as it was, I really didn’t want to miss out on all the other good books I plan to read. Little Fires Everywhere I tried to read on audiobook and just couldn’t focus on the story. So I didn’t finish it by the time I had to return it to the library. I’m hoping to get a hard copy of it soon so I can try again, but who knows?
What I’m Currently Reading
I am LOVING this book so far. I started it yesterday and am almost finished with it! It’s quite breathtaking for me. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a great novel in the historical fiction genre about a family’s life after a wildfire destroyed their entire neighborhood and most of coastal Maine.
What I Plan to Read
I’m really looking forward to these next two books. I’m hoping to be done with my current read by tonight so I can get started on Final Girls and then get to The Blackbird Season These are two books that are on my October TBR, so I’m working hard to stick to that!
What are you planning on reading this week?
