It’s Monday: What Am I Reading?

Monday Meme Graphic

Monday is finally upon us as the weekend has sadly come to an end. What a drag! I had such an incredible weekend I didn’t wait it to end!

Weekend Wrap-Up

My boyfriend and I managed to get to the 9/11 memorial and museum on Saturday, and it was so much more than I could ever have imagined. It was an incredible experience just walking around and seeing different things artifacts from that day. I managed to hold back tears somehow, especially seeing photos of all the victims and hearing some of their stories. Below are some pictures I took:

It was incredible, and I recommend that EVERYONE go and visit the museum and memorial.

Sunday we went apple picking, and I’m SO EXCITED TO MAKE APPLE PIES!! This is my favorite baking season and I won’t be wasting it! I’ll post up my favorite apple pie recipe as it gets closer. It’s delicious!!

It’s Monday: What Am I Reading?

This is a weekly meme hosted by BookDate that I love participating in, so feel free to participate yourself!

What I Read

I finally finished See What I Have Done earlier this week. Hopefully I’ll get the review up this weekend. I also started and finished The Lying Game by Ruth Ware. What a book! Again, hopefully by next week that review will be up. I’m trying to stick to a schedule for reviews, but I’m so backed up that I might be doing two reviews a week every so often. I don’t like them to sit in my drafts rather than in a published post.

Currently Reading

I am currently trying to get through Little Fires Everywhere on audio, but I know that I’ll be checking the physical book out at the library at some point. I’ve never been good with audiobooks. My mind tends to wander too much unless I’m focused on words on a page. But I’m trying to get better at it. We’ll see!

I also started The Witches: Salem, 1692 yesterday, just in time for October. I think it’ll be a struggle, as it’s a nonfiction account of the Salem Witch Trials, but I’m hoping the writing style will get a little bit better as it goes on. Only time will tell, but I plan on doing my best to stick to it.

What I Plan to Read This Week

After my current read, I plan on FINALLY opening up Best Day Ever by Kaira Rouda. I bought it this past weekend along with The Blackbird Season by Kate Moretti, so those two will definitely be read this month. I’m also waiting for Final Girls to come in at the library so I can get through that as well. One book I’m interested that I haven’t added to my Monthly TBR (I have too many books as it is!) is The Unquiet Grave. I would really LOVE to get to this one this month as well, but only time will tell.

  1. I listened to THE LYING GAME. I liked it, but did not like the choices of the characters.

THE BLACKBIRD SEASON was my first Kate Moretti book. It took a few chapters for me to get interested, but it was worth the wait. 🙂

    Have a great week.
